I now have some time to look and "study" the internet and thought it might be interesting also for you.
There are 2 videos of the Whitecapped-Shama (C.m.stricklandii). One had a, let me say , not too bad song. The other one more repeating but I was surprised to see them in an aviary with chicks and breeding there in Borneo. WOW! (say nothing David ,I can hear you thinking hahhaaa) but for a songbirdpark with special points of the Shama in it's subspecies there this species is "a must" also . As much as I don't look too much for the display , it has a nice display and I remember Prayogi telling about the Borneo species like this.)
Also I found a lot of Nightingale videos and songs of different qualities but some very good. Also there I tried to select in the different subspecies and the Northern Nightingale. The Nightingale is a Nightingale.
Compare it's song the one in the Cage of the Cement walled room (of course a good bird) and the one far away by night in nature (in not so good condition like the caged bird, but the sound is better)
I also have added many videos of the European Goldfinch and found he is a popular Bird also in Turkey, Marocco and Arabic lands . We saw him on holidys in italy and Spain on many houses close to the way they are kept shamas in your country. It is a very beautiful coloured Seedeater with a plaesant song. It is not a "pure beginner bird" like a siskin (Carduelis spinus) or canary, but with a little practice he is easy to tame (normally they are longer time shy, different to siskin) and keep in best condition (He needs a lot of Nigerseed ~ 50% and best is Dandilion or chickweed)

Nachtigall:(Common Nightingale , Luscinia megharynchos) . A very simple bird but on the 1st view but a grazie when comming closer . The Bluethroath is one of it's closest relative and have much of their elegant , featherlight ballerina movement in common

The Eastern Subspecies "Luscinia megharynchos hafizii" , what is more pale and sandy coloured , compared to the reddishbrown Nominatform (It's Habitat is from Iran where it is the national bird and imaging for love , [turkey] to India . It is a mygratery bird and I am not sure how far eastern it will go by summertime up to sibiria or china ???? this here pictured is from Oman and the videos might show this species > I never hearded it singing before (A east German Birder friend told me once , they should not be singing as well as the European Species . He had access before the iron fence fell , to Russia as East Germany was . So I am surprised that the bird heer sings good .May be my friend found only a bad spot , same as the shamasongs might vary much by location

Stieglitz or European Goldfinch Carduelis carduelis is a common cagebird in Europe specially and traditionally in Italy and Spain . He looks nice , gets aftre a while really tame and has a specially very good Seedeater song .
He makes very good crossbreeds with the Canarie and when they are in pure white only with the red , yelloew and black marks grown up NOT with canaries only with Goldfinches then they have the very good song and are very high prised ; some you can watch here and I believe they are from Turkey ??:
this one here is the species we kept mostly in Germany and catched them from the wild . The mask is more orange
This one is the Parva Goldfinch from Spain and southern , an excellent bird

A very nice song but I never would keep him together with Shamas or Nightingales .
In my opinion they "fit" good together with Mozanbique Greensinger or european skylark what means all "open air" birds . Shamma and nightingales are living in underbrush of big treen and forestes som the resonace is different
