Outcross

This is Jazz.  He is a cross between a twelve inch wild-caught and one of my captive bred females.  Jazz has the character and song of his father but he does not have the tail length.  His tails after the 2nd moult are about 10"-10 1/2".

When I have a repeat mating of birds from my own line,  I can more or less guess how the offspring will turn out.  It is different when birds are paired for the first time and especially when there is introduction of new blood.

I apologise for the shaky video.  The camera was handheld but its anti-shake feature was spoilt.
